I am a current user of Fedora 12 and I decided to try Ubuntu because it seems to be bette suited for Home Theater PC. I Downloaded Ubuntu 9.1 on 4/28/10, created CD but it didn't work. It gives an "I/O Error", says, "Error reading boot CD". Today (4/29), I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04, and same thing. I tried on two computes without success. Please help.

If you still have Lucid iso then download same with torrent and point download to the folder with your existing iso.Torent will just check iso for bad files and replace them with good ones. After that run md5sum. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM) Burn iso on lower possible speed.Boot Ubuntu live CD an check it for errors ( you will see that option on menu.If everything is fine go for install.

First, thank you for your reply. I will try that. I have couple of questions. What is Lucid iso (I assume it's what i downloaded from the Ubuntu web site). I also assume there is an option to download using torrent. Also, where do i find the program md5sum? Can be run in Windows enviornment? thanks again.

Solved. I downloaded CD at differnt location (with Win XP). Previous downloads were from Win 7. I don't know if XP made the difference. It worked. Thank you guys.
