hello Ubuntu forum and members,
im running an acer aspire 5720 3 gig ram, intel centrino duo and an intel family chipset :(
i have always had overheating problems when switching to a new distro...
KArmik was almost unusable on my machine as was intrepid and heron...
i have chalked this processor overheating problem to the 2.7 kernel and have been waiting the 3.0 release to get any new ubuntu distro...

I am currently running Win 7 with no problems *love it*, yet everytime i get a new distro and duel boot it up on my machine it runs slow and hot like vista. jaja.

Thanks to the Dev team for the new release and i am downloading it now.

Hi, I have also overheating problem on Acer laptop but mine is acer aspire 5315..the same problems applied to opensuse 11.2 so I gues its something wrong with last kernels.

now I have to use XP.

Hi, my laptop is also acer aspire 5315. I could not install the 10.04 because my laptop was turned off suddenly during installation. I suppose this is the same problem. When I tried live cd,the same thing was happened again :(
I have been used this laptop with hardy and intrepid xubuntu.
