I believe it has most of the day. However, has it been "Officially Announced?" On the mailing list...

It has been listed as the RC for most of the day.

It is changed now. If you see the modified date and time, it lists as 29th April 17.07 for the torrent.

So, it is the final release... :P

I've got about 18 connected out of 44 peers and it's coming down at about 700k, 8 min to go . . . oops - it just finished in the time it took to post this note.

^^ Update ^^

The 64bit server version, as one might expect, isn't as popular. Ahh the wait and see crowd . . .
I'm seeding the desktop 64 10 times faster than the server is downloading.

The main page is updated!

Usually whenever there is a new ubuntu release, it takes several hours for the main page to get updated. They do this so as to remove the load of the servers...

The torrent has 450 seeders and 2000+ leechers as of now... So better use the torrents for a faster download...:P

Edit: I didn't think they'll update the main page so fast... :KS

Lucky you, my lovely ISP (fyi it came with the student flat) throttles all torrent traffic so I'm stuck with a reasonably speedy direct download.

Been stuck on "Loading" for the torrent for quite a while now. When it's up, I'll be sure to seed for you all.

of to school for me. ill be seeding the two alternate and two desktop .iso's uncapped while im gone.

edit: the alternate ones seem to have a lot faster download speed right now, and since it installs the exact same thing as the desktop version, consider getting that first if you are eager and/or in a rush.

Nice! I'll wait until I get home this evening to download it, but once I get my data backed-up I'll do a clean install. Hopefully some of the bugs reported in RC for my laptop (namely ACPI not working) are fixed.

Did the upgrade from 9.10 to 10.04. took about three hours, but it's working fine. Ubuntu and KDE are running great. Still toying with some new apps on the KDE side. Smoothest upgrade I've ever done.:P

Torrents were real quick for me. I'm already running lucid, but I'm going to be reinstalling anyway, because I like to start from square one. Time to backup and begin. Lucid FTW!

I'm downloading everything but the netbook armel isos and will be seeding uncapped for the foreseeable future. So far I've got desktop and server amd64 iso.

Torrents are amazingly fast if you have an ISP that doesn't throttle them.

WOW my torrent speed just jumped through the roof. Must have reached a critical saturation and seeds improved. Should be finished with the download between 40 to 30 minutes. Been at it for about 20 minutes. Please everyone continue to seed after your done with your download.

I want to install the new release. But the kernel and initrd.gz available in the link below are last modified only on 26th and not 29th. Where can I download the latest network installer files from?
