I see plenty of people impatiently waiting for Lucid to be officially released.

While you are waiting, why not click on the links and...

back up your files (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1460579)

and/or your partitions
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DriveImaging)
It's good for the blood pressure. :)

And read this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9189391#post9189391) before looking for / clicking download links.

Very good PSA. :D

I'm all ready to go - files backed up, etc, just waiting for the release to go live.

I just backed up my entire hard drive with clonezilla (http://www.clonezilla.org/) while I wait for Ubuntu 10.04 to be released.

Looks like there's more interest in agonising over the exact time of the release than in backing up.

I hope that not too many people lose all their marbles files...

If you all wait for it to be released and then all try and download it, you'll probably make the server really really slow.

Why not check the Release Candidate notes, and if you're not affected by those remaining issues then download and install the RC? Tomorrow you can run Update Manager and it will become the final version.

I installed the most recent daily version a couple of days ago. My guess is that there's going to be minimal or even no change from that.

I just find the steam coming from the ears in some of the threads rather amusing, that's all.

there is nothing like getting a fresh copy of the newly released version of Ubuntu--a new CD-burned with a custom designed label and jacket, with the name boldly displayed "Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 Desktop Edition Released 29-04-2010"

just make sure you use torrents for downloading when it's out.

just make sure you use torrents for downloading when it's out.

why would i not use a torrent? so i may enjoy blinding download speeds of 5 kb/s sometimes peaking at 10 kb/s? i would not be nail biting like for waiting for the new release to become available: i would chew all the way up to my elbows and beyond! others may do as they please: i will use a torrent. :lolflag:
