iso stands for International Organization for Standardization which has nothing to do with what an ISO is.

an iso is basically all the files from a cd put into one file that can be burnt to a disk

International Organization for Standardization defined the format.

I'll say 15:00 (3:00pm)

I can attest to having issues with Lucid...Im not going to hold to them until the full release though and I get off of LTS.

Not sure if I'll do a clean install Tomorrow night or leave it a few days.
I've been running it from an upgrade or 9.10 and using 9.10's version of XBMC.

Don't know wither to compile 10.04 version of XBMC or wait till it's in the their repos.

If it's international release then I reckon it will be 00:00 GMT!
However it Canonical releases at local (South Africa) time, then it will be 22:00 GMT!

Bridgekeeper: Hee hee heh. Stop. What... is your name?
King Arthur: It is 'Arthur', King of the Britons.
Bridgekeeper: What... is your quest?
King Arthur: To seek the Holy Grail.
Bridgekeeper: What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
King Arthur: What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
Bridgekeeper: Huh? I... I don't know that.
[he is thrown over]
Bridgekeeper: Auuuuuuuugh.
Sir Bedevere: How do know so much about swallows?
King Arthur: Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

My favorite:

'I have been using Lucid testing, do I need to install the final or can I just update and have the final release'

I have already seen threads about that. But every release for years that question is asked.

Only if you have a GUI. :p

Otherwise apt-get dist-upgrade should get you the latest version.

Last time I checked (but i don't check very often), apt-get dist-upgrade was "not recommended". The recommended way on (non-GUI) servers is with update-manager-core or something -- the cli version of JUST RUN THE #$%#$%#%$ UPDATE MANAGER

What time of the release date was 9.10 released? How about 9.04? Older releases? Has anyone kept tracked of what time past releases were released on the release date? If so, has there been a trend as to the time of day it usually comes out?

I've got 3 releases: intrepid, jaunty, karmic earlier than it was announced.
Basically, ISOs are made on 26th or 27th of April(October).
Then, on the 29th, they starting to distribute them between mirrors.
And now it's time for you to catch it! Just look through list of mirrors and eventually you meet with "403 Forbidden" message -- it means release is there already. If you're lucky, you can find final ISO like 20 hours before official announcement.

All I know is this: I WANNA UPGRADE RIGHT NOW AND IF IT'S NOT THERE BY MIDNIGHT (THAT'S 45 MINUTES!), DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GONNA DO?!? I'M GONNA ... I'M GONNA ... I'M ... I ...

... will probably go to bed, read a couple chapters of David Weber and worry about the big upgrade sometime tomorrow.

Upgrader manager says somewhere in the vicinity of half an hour. I was told 23 minutes, though, and it keeps changing its mind.

A needle fell out of my record player.

I just played the end of Xaviar Cugat and his Waldorf-Astoria, "Toca-tu Samba" Columbia 36792, except the record has a broken bit, so I tried to play the beginning of the record and then...

A needle fell out.

But it's ok. I'll find it when I'm done here and attempt to put it back in.

B side: "Good, Good, Good"
Vocal Chorus by Del Campo
and some other credits...

...but let's leave philosophy out of this.

Maybe we should pre-empt them and start our own. So far I love Lucid had a few problems during the cycle but think I've got everything working now.Hope they fix the release iso as I had to install it with no modset and that would put off new users straight away.

no it's not, that is not the final version as they are still working on bugs. See here for example: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/570765

They even considered a delayed release because of this one...
See for yourself.
