I've been reading over the forums here and other places, and it seems there are numerous people who enjoy the new default theme design of Ambiance in general, however it seems that a lot of people don't like the fact that the window border controls have been moved to the left side of the title bar.

To satisfy those people who want their controls on the right side of the screen, I've created a modified version of the Ambiance theme called "Ambiance_R".

You can install this theme and you will have the new Ambiance theme with the controls on the right side instead of the left.

To install the theme do the following:

First download the attached theme file from here.
It is called Ambiance_R.tar.gz

System -> Preferences -> Appearance

Click on the Theme tab,
Click Install.
Navigate to the the you downloaded from here Ambiance_R.tar.gz
Click Open

There you go, you now have the Ambiance with the controls on the left, and Ambiance_R with the controls on the right.

Enjoy!

Thanks for doing this, but a FYI: you can get both Ambience and Radiance with controls on the right very easily using the Appearance settings. (You don't have to edit gconf settings - which is not advisable).

System > Preferences > Appearance. Highlight Human theme. Click on Customise button. Under Controls tab, highlight Ambiance. Under Window Border tab, highlight Ambiance. Under the Icons tab, highlight Ubuntu-Mono-Dark. Voila! (Save your customised theme if you wish.)

For Radiance, simply substitute Radiance under Controls and Window Border and Ubuntu-Mono-Light for icons.
