View Full Version : [ubuntu] U.are.U 4500 Fingerprint Reader on Ubuntu 9.10

I was able to compiled the module for kernel 2.6.31-20-default with no problem for my U.are.U 4500 fingerprint reader...

modprobe says module mod_usbdpfp (the fingerprint module) is loaded but when I plug it in the kernel uses ohci_hcd for the device...

I tried disabling ohci_hcb but modprobe says it does not exist ...

Is there a way to force devices to use specifics modules?

I am in the same boat as you. I have managed to get the code to compile however I can't get their test software to see the .so library since that is closed source it is a pain! I think part of my issue is that I am running x64 and compiled the driver x64 but the sample code using -m32. Sadly DigitalPersona wants 1000 dollars for 5 hours of support time. However when I plug my device in it is using the correct driver I had to make code modifications for the driver to compile.
