I have 9.04 running well on my machine. I have always had to configure Xorg for my Sony Monitor and Nvidia 7600gs graphic card. (blank screen with nvidia driver...etc) Ever since 7.10.

Now, the 9.10 install cd boots to a black screen, doesn't matter if I use the "live" mode or select the second option that just runs the gui installer. I have information on my HDD that I can't loose so I need the gui to install the OS and I have no way to edit the xorg file before the thing tries to loads a live mode/installer. I haven't tried the graphic options yet but I'm not sure that'll even work. Any ideas? I have new disks of Server, Ubuntu, and Kubuntu for 9.10, Shipit.

I just ordered some 10.04 Cds seeing that I don't have a working Dvd/cd burner. Hopefully 10.04 shows me some love =)

At the LiveCD menu, press F6 and select "nomodeset". See if that lets you boot into the LiveCD.
