View Full Version : Ubuntu Netbook Remix 64bit

Hey everyone, newbie checking in :)

I have recently got a Toshiba t115d -s1120, which has a form factor of a netbook (11 inch wide screen) but it has a 64bit processor. I have tried installing full version of ubuntu (64) and the netbook remix on it, I really liked the interface of the netbook remix, but I dont like the fact that it's only availabe in 32 bit version, I want to use the full potential of the 64bit processor. I am aware of the fact that the netbook remix is some packages installed over regular ubuntu. Can I install the netbook remix interface over the 64 bit version? I am going to try it once 10.04 comes out, but I'm curious if anyone else has done it already, just to avoid possible frustration. Thank you.

Oh, and like majority of the new users, i have created the thread in a wrong section, I'm really sorry. Could this be moved to the appropriate section, please? I'm really sorry again.

So Just ordered a ASUS eee netbook, and was looking at putting the 64bit Ubuntu on, then making it the netbook remix [per link above]...

but I was wondering what about 32bit apps [firefox, etc]

I found this:::

But as you see the date is from 2009, and was wondering if this is still an issue, or has it been done for us in the distro?

Any other potential known issues running 64bit [bluetooth, networking, etc] that I might need to be aware of?

Will this work with 11.10 also? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuNetbookEdition/amd64

Nevermind. I see that it does not.
