View Full Version : [xubuntu] How to install xubuntu while keeping Win XP

Plz don't suggest to use Virtual machine or Wubi. I want Dual Boot.

First defragment WIn partition few times.Boot Xubuntu live CD and during install process shrink Windows partition and on free space install Xubuntu.If you have enough space it is good idea to make separate home partition.You can do that by choosing manual installation method.

There is masses of information available on dual booting!

A quick search of these forums or a simple google search would have found page after page of stuff.

Have a good read of this page which goes into great detail on making a separate /home partition, and is well worth following. Even if you choose not to have a separate /home, the info on partitioning and so on, is all good to know and to act on.

My Xubuntu and Windows both are running perfectly fine. Thanks again.
