Its been this way for about three or four months now. Sooo much easier to tear into, AND she stays nice and cool! I started out with the intention of doing some kind of case mod. But decided , "why not just leave it out where I can get at everything quickly?"
The huge fan on the hard drive case keeps 'em nice and cool too!

I'm surprised no one's mentioned submerging your computer in liquid: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=aquarium+computer+case

I haven't measured the temps yet but, the hard drives stay super cool to the touch. The huge fan mounted to the case helps that.

Err, shouldn't you be worried about shocking a part?

Are yo refering to the submerged pc? if so, they use mineral oil which doesn't conduct electricity.

If you are talking about mine, I try not to touch it while it's on. However, I have a few times with no issues.
