How were you planning to upgrade?
If you use System->update manager, you can expect to keep 64-bit.

Hi Tanner

With the proviso that all software may be a little buggy :)

Here is the RC announcement ;)

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2010-April/000132.html

We consider this release candidate to be complete, stable, and suitable for
testing by any user.

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop Edition and Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition continue
the trend of ever-faster boot speeds, with improved startup times and a
streamlined, smoother boot experience.

I would advise backing up all your data though (the /home directory as a safeguard :)

Kind regards and keep on Ubunting john

Program settings are usually stored in the /home, so doing a backup of your personal/normal files and the /home folder should be enough, I never backed up anything else.
