When I insert the ubuntu CD, there is no option when booting to boot from CD. it automatically starts Windows. I have changed the boot configuration and set my CD/DVD drive as the primary booting device. But, NO USE!!!

Did you save your BIOS (boot up) configuration when you exited?

Where did the CD come from,is it one you burned yourself from a downloaded image (.ISO)?

Did you burn it as an ISO or did you just "Save" the file to CD?

You need to burn it as an ISO image.

After changing boot priority in BIOS hit F10 to save the changes and Exit.
