the author says the reason ubuntu is popular is because they give away free cds and the release cycle is "interesting"(http://www.linuxtimes.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=774). as if there were no other reasons that it could be popular(awesome documentation, cool community, ease of configuration, APT). he also says that adding a repository to APT is way too much work and then spends time installing X and Gnome from scratch off the web and edits rc.conf files to get networking to work..... ummm so APT is a pain eh? anyways, i am not bashing arch, i am actually going to give it a try, i am saying the author does not make sense.
