Music Creation Software and DAW's with ubuntu on MAC or PC?

Dear ubuntu friends,

what is the update on which Music creation software and DAW's and AudioUnit based plug ins work with ubuntu ether on a mac or a pc. Did anyone get ableton live or any native instruments or even digidesign software to work with our beautiful little linux baby. Please reply with anything you've heard or expirienced. This thread should have someday all the answers. Were the ones who do all the footwork for later generations to enjoy independence and freedom of use :) lets do this right!

I've found "Ardour" to be able to do any kind of recording/editing and so forth, if you want to write music (as in using notes and staves-sheet music) Nted is the one.
