View Full Version : [kubuntu] Want to try K again but need some guidance

I going to switch from XP to Kubuntu. I did that a year ago but that was not a success because of the lack of hardware and network support for USB harddisks.

Hope Kubuntu made some progress in this area.

Need help for

Canon MX310
Brother p-toutch QL-500
USB harddisk NTFS USB over network (for backup data from other computers over the "workgroup".
Wacom tablet ft-0405-u0b

I would appreciate all help and pointing in directions.

You'll find KDE interface similiar to Windows but it does have it's differences, I was a lil disappointed and switched back to gnome due to the fact I'm more comfortable using gnome. However, I would say try it out and if you don't like you can always install another graphical interface.

Drivers have nothing to do with the desktop environment. If it works on ubuntu, it will work on x/k/ubuntu.
