So when I was younger - Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 era - I used to play aaaaall sorts of games. I used to get discs that had 10s to 100s of games on them. It was hard to find good games but when I did, oh boy was I ever addicted.

There was one game that was set up like a classic fighter - say Street Fighter - but it had to do with monsters. From what I remember, you could create/customize your own character and enter them into a tournament - like hockey playoffs, where when you lose, you're out of the tournament. I remember being able to make a green monster and I think one of the back drops was a cave, but can't remember much else than that.

Places like

http://www.abandonia.com/en/
http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/

are good places to find old games, but I just can't find it. Can anyone help?

All I can think of is OMF (One Must Fall), but that's with robots and not monsters. Awesome game tho.

That looks pretty similar but I think you could create your own player in this one. Also similar is that it was shareware and never a commercial success. I'll download it and give it a try.

Wait a second, it definately could have been One Must Fall 2097, because you can modify your robot. Maybe my memory is just failing me thinking it was monsters. Thanks for the tip!

happy to help :)

Also, the full version is floating around the internet. You just need to find it. In it, you can use more robots and enter more tournaments. Also, you can get the Fire&Ice levels ... I love OMF2097!

I miss One Must Fall

I was able to download and install OMF2097 via dosbox but it doesn't seem to run because it can't find a video card :frown: I haven't had this problem with any other DOS game.

I'll play around and let you guys know. Again, thank you!

OMF2097... oh, the memories! There were fatality-type moves in this game

Alternatively, it doesn't sound too far off from Quest for Glory.

There's a manual on the internet that shows all these moves plus the fire&ice move for the 2 special characters
