Thought I'd share this lol even though it shows I'm a geek to notice...

I live in the suburbs of London and when I was out in a nearby town today I noticed a small independent computer repair shop names "Computer Solutions". However, the name of the street is called "Hard Drive" lol, this made me actually LOL, but my girlfriend didn't see the funny side... tut lol

This then got my thinking about the address of the shop, it was on the corner of the road. So it's address could have quite possibly been:

Computer Solutions
1 Hard Drive
....

Ragged *** Road is a street in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; Tom Cochrane named his album after it. The street itself was named by Lou Rocher and his friends after a season of hard work and no profit; they were sitting around one night, drinking and joking that they should call their street Ragged *** Road, as the term "ragged ***" meant dirt poor, which is what they were after a long season of prospecting, so, jokingly, they made a sign and put it up on the street. The City of Yellowknife later officially adopted the name.

Ragged *** Road is one of the most popular Yellowknife street names, and the street sign has been stolen so many times it was eventually welded onto the signpost, and replica signs were made to be sold to tourists.

My family descends from Dild0. It's kinda awkward speaking to non-Newfoundlanders about it though, especially officially.

"Where is your family from?"
"Dild0."

How about Morning Wood , this street was renamed because the grade school kids kept stealing the sign.

On Martha's Vineyard, there is a street called "Goah Way". The sign got stolen by teenagers a bunch of times, so now they have a huge boulder with "Goah Way" carved on it instead of a sign.

Dickebusch St (moorooka).

Bogan St (breakfast creek)- 'bogan' is slang for either 'lower class' or 'petrol head'.

My personal faviourite- Woodenbong! (town in NSW). Its in the area of nrothern NSW famous for weed....and the 1st time I went there somebody had attached wooden bong, on a string, to the sign. I wish I had taken a pic. :)

When I was in college here in Waco, Texas we always got laughs from people out of town because one of the main roads through town is called "New Road". I guess the city planners weren't very original :)

Also Texas has some of the best city names. For example my grandparents used to live in Fred, Texas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred,_Texas) when I was a kid. We also have towns called Italy, Happy, Paris, Kermit, Paris, Dime Box, Muleshoe, Cut and Shoot, just to name a few.
