I did the upgrade which has gone pretty fair. I would see it load the background screen and can hear the Ubuntu startup and would just sit there for around 20 seconds than the rest of the desktop would load.
After searching I found this article and thought I would give it a try.

My BIOS showed that the floppy was disabled but it was selecting the 1.44 if I had it enabled. So I set that to disable also and Shazzam now I have the fast bootup like it should.
