I tried search for this but didn't find it in forum and I do hope I am duplicating this. It looks like Synaptics has released multitouch gestures for Linux (http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/20/synaptics-extends-multitouch-gesture-suite-to-linux-chrome-os-i/). Very good nice and looking forward to using it on my Ubuntu notebooks.

What are the odds of this being included in Ubuntu as a restricted driver? The press release only mentions availability to OEMs...

I am hoping that it would be included in Ubuntu, I know it won't happen for 10.04 but maybe by 10.10.

I thought it's already available! :-(
Does anyone have any info about "dualpad" used for instance on Toshiba A200 laptop? Thanks

I hope 10.10 would have it in it. That would be an awesome addition. :D

I am using two-finger scrolling feature in Ubuntu 10.10 and i am really impressed.....It has made the task of zooming and scrolling easier.....

Though it needs a little time to get familiar with it....But its FUN !!!!

Since Hardy I've been using two finger scrolling, two finger right click, and three finger middle click on my netbook... As far as I'm concerned it's already supported.

I don't have that at all on my notebook. The two finger scrolling is grayed out for me.

I have the Toshiba Satellite A200. Is that the one you are talking about???

I can get 2 finger scrolling. But can't get anything else to work. :(

I have the HP g62 and it's a real torture.

I can't do two finger scrolling, but that's not the bad side: if I touch the trackpad with 2 or more fingers the cursor start to jump all around the screen without control. That's annoying while you are browsing, because it starts to scroll up and down very quickly

Was there ever a solid installation solution for ubuntu users for this gesture suite? I'm using an hp-dv6 and this could be pretty darn useful. Thanks in advance!

You prob need to start a new thread. This thread has been dead for almost 2 years.. Nothing but bones here..
