Hello All,
I am running a small production server. It currently runs a broken version of Ubuntu Hardy LTS (I upgraded GLIBC, like an idiot). The bottom line is that I need GLIBC 2.9 or higher so as far as I see it I have two options (assuming I want to stay with LTS):
1) Reinstall Hardy and upgrade when Lucid comes out
2) Install Lucid from scratch
Normally I would go for the fresh install as a no brainer, but my current host will only install Hardy, so I would have to change servers to do it, so there is a cost there. What I want to know is if the 8.04 upgrade will be significantly different. Really appreciate the advice.
