Hi all.

I've just upgraded from 8.10 to 9.10. (32 bit) It all went fairly well except that now my logitech quickcam (id: 046d:08d9) is no longer working. It comes up as a generic usb cam, whereas it was specifically recognized under 8.10. Under the older OS, all applications worked fine.

I can now get the cam to work in Cheese, but it isn't being recognized by the flashplayer embedded in web chat sites. (Oddly enough, the greatest timewaster ever invented, Chatroulete, is an exception to this.) Likewise it's not being recognised by the Empathy IM client.

I'm wondering if this an issue with Ubuntu or Firefox? Under 8.10 I was running a slightly newer FF version (I think?) after messing around with the PPA's.

All the online material I've read so far basically just says the cam ought to work with no setup. Any ideas?
