I've just noticed, I see multiple network connection happening in windows 7. My machine, dual boot win7/ubuntu is in a less direct proximity to wifi access point. I have another laptop across the room that has windows xp with better reception.

Both can access the wifi access point, but the one I'm using has a little drop-out. I've shared the xp's wifi and have wired network between the two. And I've noticed they're both moving data, at times.

So both laptops connect to wifi, and xp is sharing its internet connection over wired ethernet. Somehow, Win7 is taking advantage.

I'm wondering if *buntu can do this. Does anyone know?

:guitar:

PS. Please excuse, I prefer *buntu, but I'm currently using win7 to post this.

Sorry about this, after investigation I've seen that the network access I've seen via switch indicator lights is minimal and as such may be only due to the network being up, and not internet throughput. It would be nice. If I turn off wifi on this laptop, it may or may not resort to the shared internet from the other laptop. I'll have to keep an eye on it.
