I would like to install 9.10 on an old Fujitsu mini-notebook and dual-boot with W2K which is installed.
It has no CD/DVD drive.
BIOS cannot boot from USB.
The HD is not removable.

I have the alt .ISO file copied on the USB drive.

I don't want to run Xubuntu from the USB drive, I want to install it on the HD.

I've done it before, just can't remember how. (when you get old the memory is the second thing to go).

Tried search, only found installing on USB, not from.

Suggestions ????????

Suggestions ????????If you have no CD and you have no way to set your BIOS to boot from USB you have one choice buy a USB installed style CD player. Have to have a way to boot to install or even sample a Linux OS.

My mistake: there was an external floppy drive connecting via USB and there is a BIOS entry "Boot from USB-Floppy".
I vaguely remember reading something about "floppy images" a long time ago ???
Is it possible to configure the USB stick to look like a floppy drive ?
