ubuntu on dell latitude d810 centrino laptop

I'm trying to install ubuntu on a dell latitude d810 centrino laptop and I can't get the ubuntu cds to load. I've tried both 9.10 and 10.04 with no luck. The cdrom starts up, the cursor flashes on the top of the screen and then the laptop goes to the hdd.

Any ideas on what the problem might be? Can ubuntu be installed on a centrino processor?
