I work in a windows only (well now mainly windows) support shop, and I was wondering if there where any friendly and helpful forums about where I could get tips. So far all i seam to come across are paid help sites, like experts exchange, but i was hoping somewhere more forum like, preferably with a fondness of FOSS, something like community cafe but for windows.

any ideas?

MS Windows is commercial SW (mostly) and nearly ALL of that is closed source. So, what you're asking is basically a contradiction of terms. It's like asking for a Linux forum where most of the members have a fondness for Microsoft!!

The most well-known of MS Windows technical forums is TechNet.

Try pcpitstop.com I think they sell a software that will tweak your system for you, but the free test tells you how to fix your Windows system and the forums are, of course, free.
