Completely Black

I am in desperate need for help here guys.

I updated my Ubuntu System and now my screen is completely black all the time. I don't even get a bios

Have you tried a live CD to make sure it isn't a hardware issue?

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I just updated my Beta 2 this evening - it downloaded about 180MB of updates - and now Ubuntu won't boot. Get's a splash, then says it is checking the disks, then goes black whether I cancel the fdsk or not...

I think something got pushed out that wasn't ready for prime, (or even beta) time.

I tried booting into windows and got all the startup and login sounds but the screen was always black .
