Install via grub and hd iso

There must be a decent tutorial on the ubuntu forums for installing ubuntu by grub pointing to vmlinuz/initrd and mounting an iso? I don't really know what to search for and I've only found some vague outside blogs that aren't helping much. It would be great if somebody could point the way.

I used the minimal cd and pointed the grub kernel to linux
