vmware workstation7 wont play nice

hi -

I have vmware workstation installed on my OS and I am now trying to setup several iso.'s as virtual machines inside of vmware.

Here are some of the iso's:

en_office_sharepoint_server_2007_standard_and_ente rprise_edition_with_service_pack_1_x86_x64_dvd_x14

en_sql_server_2008_standard_x86_x64_dvd_x14-89155

Now, I get as far as the 'Gues Operating System Installation' part and then at the bottom I see a prompt saying "could not detect which operating system is in this disc image. you will need to specify which operating system will be installed". Aren't my iso's operating systems?? or are they just apps? Please excuse my ignorance.

I have had vmware not detecting the OS on the iso, but still been able to install anyway. But workstation is geared towards client OSs not servers OSs.

You might find that VMware ESXi more suitable for the OSs you are wanting to install.
