It looks really cool and the tech demos are great, especially the zombie survival game :P. Hopefully they improve the performance in the future because the demos weren't always running smooth.

Looks pretty awesome. But it's only free for the Personal Learning Edition. If you want to do anything serious, you have to shell out the euros.

Another candidate is http://unity3d.com
Well it does have a 3D engine but its targeted as a game IDE.
Oh and it has a free version and a paid one.

I noticed that there is a big topic on the Unity forum about users requesting Linux support. So we should all keep doing that like we're doing on Steam's forum:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1158103
Unfortunately Shiva3D's Linux support is not excellent either because there is no 64 bit plugin. Let us make a chance in that too :)

I'm against it. The web plugin should be ported if it can. But I see no point in porting Unity3D to a platform that has few commercial games as of this time.

Whether there are few games for Linux 64 bit is irrelevant. It's better for a plugin/engine company to be ahead of the game and give their clients the opportunity to aim at more platforms.
It's much easier to port it from 32 to 64 bit and vice versa than to port it from Windows to Linux for example, and even easier than writing it from scratch.

It would be cool, but it doesn't work. :( Firefox installed the plugin without any errors, after restarting it's there in the add-on list, but the website still says the plugin isn't installed...

like i mentioned earlier
unity has no Linux, android or wii support, nor does it care much about it.
supporting shiva is the way to go, maybe unity will open it's eyes with a little competition

It has support for Wii and iphone. Linux support might come in the future, if we spam there forum enough with requests.

lol
they said it wont come any time soon
supporting the competitor is always better than spamming and begging...
also shiva is cheaper all in one, for unity you need to buy separately for each platform
supporting shiva is = supporting linux gaming
anything made for any other platform like wii, android or iphone will be ready available in linux
shiva even has a few things unity lacks like built-in water / ocean system, VOIP, AI, an MMO-ready multiplayer system
