LiveUSB, because optical media is obsolete. Neither my desktop more my netbook have an optical drive.

After purchasing a movie on DVD, i use the magic of the internet to acquire a fair-use backup, in case the DVD fails to magically conjure a DVD drive into my 3.5" drive bay to allow me to watch it.

Depend on the motherboard I guess mine will use both but I found out that it did not detect the USB stick nine times out of ten!

Live CD. A pack of 50 costs less than $15.00. That's 35,000MB. Ain't gonna get anywhere near that with a pen drive or flash drive.

And if you screw up, you have a new coaster for your coffee cup. :D

Live usb. Install times are cut in half, and you can make and save changes to it.

The persistence in USB gives it the edge.

Well if you want to have more space then a live CD is better, but If you want it to be compact and small, you could put it on a USB stick, it just wont be the full version. Also I hear that there is a flash drive that is a terabyte... :)

All my USB sticks are bigger than a CD.

I like USB because I can remake it every six months.
