View Full Version : [ubuntu] choose packages not to install during upgrade to 10.04

I'm looking forward to upgrading my dist to the 10.04 beta but...

In the dist upgrade it forces me to install things like firefox, evolution, empathy, totem, rythmbox, rythmboxmusicstore, cloudone etc.

I do not want any of these and other softwares, how can I specify this so that the upgrade doesn't give me anything I don't want?

Another acceptable solution would be to choose which packages to install from cd if that is possible (I know that the standard install cd has the option to modify the command options associated with starting the install process, I haven't seen any documentation on this but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a nice little option like --exclude-package=firefox )

Thank you

If I were you I`d do a minimal install and build it up.
