Hello. I had a 160 GB hard drive I was going to install Ubuntu 9.10 on and a 160 GB hard drive I had all my data on. When I went to do the partitioning, the installer showed the drive I wanted to install on, but it ended up installing on my back up drive. Is there any way to recover my data from this drive?

Hawaiian1nder, you might want to research a little before popping up and giving an answer like that. After a few hours of research and a few trials, I found a free program that did recover nearly all my data. It renamed it all and converted some image extensions, but I have my data back, all 160 GBs of it. The app is called Photorec if you are interested in it.
