Hi folks,
Since m computer updated FF to 3.6.x FF runs really slowly if a page with java/js or flash opens. It gets so slow I can hardly use it at all.
This is a known problem that many people are complaining about, as seen here:
http://tinyurl.com/yao8py6
http://tinyurl.com/y7ybl9t
http://tinyurl.com/yydrn3b
... and on many other mozilla support threads.

I would like to depreciate back to 3.5.8 or 3.5.9 until this issue is resolved, as currently this is preventing me from working the internet on my websites, etc.

How can I get a previous version of firefox to install?

Using Jaunty 9.04

Much thanks for any help,

Jonathan

I solved the problem with my Firefox by installing Ubuntu 10-.04 - clean install and Firefox works fine.

But it was not that easy to have a beta dist:

- there are updates like twice per day (you have to look for them - nothing is automatic and there are no reminders
- I regularly have to check the computer janitor and delete what is no longer needed
- some things are not installed right away - i had some trouble with Oo but it got fixed
- at some point the shut off button disappeared (I got another and now have 2 !)
- at one boot computer started to check the files and froze for an hour or so ( I got into Recovery and believe that it did same).
- some .txt files got corrupted when I moved them from a USB stick

All in all, for me it is a learning experience and I am glad that i did it (or actually had to do it).

OldVersion has several versions of Firefox available going all the way back to Firefox 0.8, but the latest one they have is 3.5.2.
