Does anybody know of some good programmes for kids to use ? Games ? Educational (apart from TuxPaint and Childsplay) ?

Gcompris is also pretty good, and is part of edubuntu's package list, but can be added to a standard ubuntu as well.

also a good flash gaming site for kids and less ads, plus nice selection (most are good and not crappy, like i seen on most sites)

i used tux typing to learn to type on my small netbook keyboard - great little game.

i let a friend's friend's 3rd grade girl play with it - it held her attention all on it's own for a good 25 minutes... which, apparently, is an impressive feat.
