Texture compression help

I'm a linux noob and I installed this game and when I try to play it it says that theres a texture compression error with my video card I'm not sure what card I have or anything but before I installed ubuntu I could play a lot of games so I think it just needs updated or maybe I need to manually do something to get it to work any help would be appreciated.

Hi, sorry this is kind of late...

First, you should check that your graphics card's driver is installed. I believe there is a tool to do this in System>Administration... I forget the real name of it, but it was something to the effect of "Hardware drivers."

If they need to be installed, then go ahead and install them and reboot.

If the problem still persists, please let us know.
