I really wanted to open a loco for south bronx area as there are no such active locos here. Checked the loco page at ubuntuwiki but its way to complicated to me. Specially opening the irc nickname and team channel. can anyone show or direct me to a much easier tutorial of how to set up a loco/open irc cahnnel?
*pardon me for my noob questions. ):P

You'll first want to touch base with the rest of the New York team:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NewYorkTeam
While there haven't been many events in your area, there are a number of NYC folks who are on the mailing list and there may be some already in #ubuntu-us-ny on irc.ubuntu.com
Also, you may want to check out the New York forums here:

Good luck!

I thought there was a big NYC team but I confused it with the NYC LUG. I suggest you touch base with them and see if any of them are into Ubuntu. I would imagine a lot of them are Slax but in any event those LUG get-togethers are a good place to start.

It says right on the homepage that they had a meeting on the 17th of March, and there are 34 users in their IRC channel right now...

ehm...its the whole nyc team. i am trying to make one at BRONX. Even though they hav a team no one knows anything about linux in bronx. Being a team isnt just sitting at home and talking on IRC...im trying to make a local team and let everyone know about ubuntu and widen its use in my community. hope that explains.
