Hello,

Why sharks cannot beat the dolphins? What are the advantage of dolphins they have in the sea compared to sharks?

Sharks are fish, dolphins are mammals.

Dolphins are generally recognised as the second most intelligent animal on Earth. Fish aren't exactly known for their intelligence. To put it mildly.

Hello,

Why sharks cannot beat the dolphins? What are the advantage of dolphins they have in the sea compared to sharks?Dolphins travel in (social) groups. They have a very highly evolved memory, senses and thought process. They can ram a shark with their snout and kill it in as little as one try... though it takes teamwork most of the time... Sharks don't mess with groups of Dolphins... The (Sharks) are not stupid either, they just like to eat a lot...

Nice.

You think that dolphins are more intelligent than dogs?
Well for sure, more than mine (http://anglopole.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/labrador-retriever.jpg) :). :lolflag:

Concerning their beating abilities of dolphins, It seems that dolphins just hit the sharks violently. But how can they swim much faster than sharks and make sure difference. It is bit weird.

I once put an iron into the freezer and the iron won.

And the freezer lost.

I also lost the house.

I don't think there is a straight forward answer. There are different species of sharks and dolphins. Bottle nose dolphins are very often found with scars from shark attacks that they have obviously survived. Harbour porpoises usually do not have these scars, some marine biologists do think its simply because none of them actually do survive shark attacks. Orcas (despite the name "killer whale" they are dolphins) in contrast are known to attack and kill great white sharks if they feel threatened.

well, I think they usually inhabit water of differant temperatures, so I don;t think they bump into eachother too often (though the specific species may vary; dolphins need not fear nurse sharks for instance).

it is my understanding that dolphins ram aggressors with their reinforced noses, and they are much more manuverable than most large species of sharks, go attacking the flanks at ramming speed may be enough for the dolphin to come out on top as it were.

depends on the exact shark and the exact dolphin i suppose

dolphins can gather together in a large group and confuse the shark into thinking they are one large animal, shark don't want to mess with something 5x it's size, goes away.

Dolphins are like the people of the sea. They aren't the fastest, or biggest, but they are very social, and extremely intelligent. This combonation gives them the same edge in the water that we had on land.

A nuanced and reasoned response. There are known cases of killer whales that kill great white sharks for sport too. Recreational hunting appears to not be an uncommon activity for killer whales.

Nope the apes are first and gradually evolve to man.

Yes, though I would tend to disqualify them due to the whole hyper-dimensional being bit.

Oh, the unenlightened... Read some Douglas Adams, will ya! ;)

Anyway, I think it goes something like this:

1. Humans
2. Dolphins
3. Crows
4. Some whales
5. Some primates
6. Elephants
7. Pigs
8. Dogs

There are man ways to describe intelligence, so this list is in no way perfect.

Nope the apes are first and gradually evolve to man.If the apes are first, then wouldn't they really be gradually devolving into man? ;)

I think I saw an ape that was half way there the other day. :)

Dolphins are much more adept at moving vertical than sharks. It'd be sort of like a human trying to catch a bird, the bird would just fly away in a direction the human would be physically unable to pursue it in.

Remember that rare photo of shark caught in mid-air as it was charging a prey? Dolphins do that for fun.

the other day, my cat was trying to jump out a window from my desk.

he very carefully balanced one rear paw in an empty cereal bowl, and, after careful evaluation, placed the other rear paw on a piece of paper.

needless to say, i lol'd when he launched himself...

seems funny. could you describe bit more his attempt? seems he did spill out the cereal bowl all over, and intelligently evaluated that it was too dangerous or high
