Kwin & fglrx

Hi, I'm following the x64 Beta & KDE 4.4.2 is looking quite nice, especially with the Radeon driver for my HD4670. Unfortunately, this is a laptop & I could do with the power savings offered by fglrx. The laptop works with this driver (8.721 & 8.723) but there's no kwin effects & desktop performance is really quite poor.

Any ideas?

PS. Yup, an ATi noob...
