View Full Version : [all variants] how to add another desktop enviroment to the sessions list

So when i boot up my computer and get to the login screen, i can choose from 3 sessions. Gnome, xterm, and Failsafe gnome i think.
i was wondering how i can add LXDE or gnome-shell to this list without having to use --replace.

I think you can install lxde by using the command
sudo aptitude install lxde
you can switch over to the lxde by logging out and select lxde while logging in.
Well it does not replace Gnome provided you do not set lxde as default desktop.

Thanks. i had to run the command twice to get it into the sessions list. Dont know why.
