Hi Everyone,

I am running Windows 7 and wanted to install VMWare and Ubuntu on it. So I downloaded VMware and the Ubuntu install files but I got stuck on the Language prompt. So I researched and downloaded Ubuntu alternate iso file and the install went fine.

I now launch VMWare and get a prompt for username and Password which I enter. The I get a unix like prompt such as username@ubuntu: $.

I have not done the install before and dont know how to proceed from here. Can you help?

Thanks
Raghav

I suggest you try the live cd again, but instead use VirtualBox. It's (in my opinion) better than VMWare.

Thanks for suggesting. I will keep that in mind in the future. However how can I finish this install so that I can start using UBUNTU? Its brings me up like i said from the VM box to a unix prompt and I dont know what to do from there.

If you downloaded the text-based installer, you should just have to type "install" at the prompt...
