A friend has two HD's in his tower:
1TB SATA > benchmarked read at 75.7mbps
160GB PATA > benchmarked read at 54.3mbps
He wants the system on the 160gb arguing that he uses the other hard drive to store films, television and music, and wants to prolong it's life by having it spin as little as possible.
I personally think his system would have better performance if it were installed on the 1TB.
Considering there's a diference of 20mbps in the benchmarks, would the improvement be noticeable? or is he better off wearing out his old hd first?
