I was just wondering what Icon theme people out there are using? At present I am using garGANTuan (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=24364).
Please share where you got your icons from. I use www.gnome-look.org (http://www.gnome-look.org).

I just recently set up my wife and kid's desktops to get them started and it's pretty run-of-the-mill Gnome themes:
me = Wasp
spouse = Lush
kids = Nuvola
Also, rearranged the panels and lowered the resolution to make things more readable.

Tango, actually.
Because the Folder and device icons look really great, and the toolbar icons are clear. I'd like something better for file/mime-type icons though.
I can recommend both Snowish and Etiquette, also; the latter especially for the file/mime-type icons.

Glass Icons found here (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=32146). It is the coolest icons I've had, so I'll be keeping them for some time.

tango, but I don't like much how some look like, for instance the computer icon if small sized it's quite ugly...

Switching between Crystal SVG (the official theme for KDE 3.5.1) and Nuvola (to prepare me for Oxygen in KDE4). :D
But somehow I find the Crystal sets (SVG, GT, and Clear) to look better than the current Nuvola theme.

Tango! But NoWhereMan has a point, the computer icon needs more work.

Kreski Lines
I think I got them from art.gnome.org. Fit in great with a dark desktop.

I prefer the stock Gnome icon set. I been using it since the dawn of time and they keep a pretty consistant look. They also match my themes. I like to keep my icon sets and console colors consistant that way I can easily find what I am looking for.
Cheers,
Joey

Cheers. Are you stalking me :mrgreen:
I spotted these when I installed Kreski. There was some reason why I went with the older ones, but I can't remember why. I think they might have fitted in better with my desktop. I'll check them out again, though.

Is there a program available to create your own icon theme? I have tried Gnome Icon Builder, but it's unusable due to its instability.

I use Gartoon. I like them because they are fun and not too serious. I got them here (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=13527), but I think you can get them with apt-get.
