engadget calls Gemini "the most feature complete tablet"

ICD gemini vs ipad vs joojoo (http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/06/icds-tegra-2-powered-gemini-is-the-most-feature-complete-tablet/)

apple opens up the market for mass android

android nearly triples (http://www.electronista.com/articles/10/04/05/comscore.shows.android.keeping.apple.at.bay/) market in 4 months, from 3% in November to 9% in February

it's said the "touch" tablet craze could become bigger than that of netbooks

Apple "invents" (makes up) an "untapped market niche", other companies rush in to get some of the apple rejects' money. The tablet PC has zero utility compared to the laptop or the smartphone. What's that, you're interested in an overpowered smartphone that doesn't have a phone and doesn't fit in a pocket? Buy a netbook. You're interested in a smaller laptop that still doesn't fit in your pocket and doesn't have enough power to run some applications your laptop can? Buy a netbook. The tablets are selling purely on the "shiny" factor. And the last thing I need is more devices with more glossy screens that function as mirrors in direct sunlight.

the "shiny" factor, has almost always driven the market. Just look at cars, TVs or the entertainment industry (games, movies, etc)

i am minimalistic person in most things, but not much when it comes to entertainment

also seem to make some work less boring

like you i would like for the world to be smart and/or much more efficient, but basic instinct/desire still rules the world

someone once said that money was not the root of all ebil, it's boredom... maybe it's both :0

What about the Notion Ink's Adam Tablet? It look much better than the above three with respect to features...And the 3 MP swivel camera and the PixelQi trans-reflective screen make it a must have... :)

And it supports Android, Ubuntu and Chromium as the OS...

Isn't JooJoo that one with the questionable business dealings, where the maker never paid the developer for the OS or something?

Well when iPad users can't even use their own WIFI networks, I think many of the 300,000 will go back pretty quick and swapped for for an ICD Tegra :D

Only if it is advertised enough they know about it!

yeap they were supposed to be the original crunchpad

was supposed to be cheaper, have more features and launched months ago

some of the partners got greedy and blew off the techcrunch guys, now they're on a lawsuit

too bad, this was the "ipad", before the ipad was even news..
