Ubuntu-desktop Installation

hi, tried to install ubuntu desktop using this command: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

i got this error:

Ubuntu-desktop
Reading Package lists..Done
Building dependency true
Reading State information,,Done
E:Couldn't find package ubuntu-desktop

but the disc installer is inserted on the cd-rom drive.. any ideas why i got this error?

install it when system boot time. choose CD room as your boot device :)

I was having this error because there was no network on my laptop..

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop will download files from internet.. now i have GUI.. thanks.. :P :guitar:
