I was having problems with Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 so I decided to reinstall it. It was about 95% done and then it gave me a fatal error saying it could not instal grub. I tried again and it gave me the same thing. I then used gparted to wipe the HD create a blank partition. I tried installing again but it failed again. Any ideas on what to do? I'm using an Acer Aspire One 110. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to use GParted to create a new partition table? That might help. If you just deleate the partitions, that might not work. You could also use Darik's Boot'n Nuke (DBAN) > http://www.dban.org/ to zero out the HDD. That would probably work.

What kind of partition table do I need to create? In other words, what format does it need to be in?

I erased the whole disk and chose the option from the installer to erase and use the whole hard drive. It almost finishes but fails at the installation of grub. What should I do?
