Running 10.04 beta from external drive

Hello all--When booing to my USB external HD with Ubuntu on it--Do i loose any speed and what happens to the internal hard drive that has windows on it--Does it just spin? Thanks.. BTW-10.04 BETA RUNS NICE!

internal drive just sits there waiting to be mounted.

You will lose some speed. Esp, depending on what the speed of the USB your using. 3.0 being the best/fastest.
