I thought of this the other day and was wondering if it was even possible, and if so why it hasn't been implemented yet.

One of my applications for Ubuntu is for testing purposes for various things and I often need to reinstall the OS, with Ubuntu its very easy since its Open Source. I can just pop in the install CD and quickly reinstall. However, wouldn't it be super easy for people like me if there was an option under the administrator options somewhere or even without a GUI to reinstall the OS from within the currently installed version? I would think it could just load up the installer from the live CD and install it from there. Then just restart the computer and the new edition takes over the old one. I can't see why this wouldn't be possible, it might be a bit tricky but something that I would love to see in the future.

Am I way off in thinking that this is possible?
