Hi,

Sometimes I like to experiment with some security related stuff but most apps, like crunch, are not in ubuntu's repo so therefore I added the backtrack linux repo to my sources.list (I don't want to run on BT as my main OS). I did an apt-get install crunch as usual and apt thinks it installed the package succesfully but the crunch command is still not recognized in the terminal nor can I find any files on my disk containing the name crunch...

Can anyone tell me how to look into this? I guess I need some way to actually grab the crunch_2.0-bt0_i386.deb but I have no experience with this. I'm really new to linux...

Can anyone lend me a hand? I'm running ubuntu 9.1.

Never mind, I found it. The package gets extracted to /pentest/passwords/crunch/ and its not pathed :)
