Places Menu keyboard shortcut

Is there any way to configure a keyboard shortcut for the "Places" menu on the top menubar?

Currently I can do Alt+F1, then Left, then Down... but I access the places menu enough that the extra 2 keys are tedious.

you can make a keyboard combo do what ever you want, go to system, then preferences, and keyboard shortcuts

on your own from there, i'm on windows atm (ubuntu wont work, going to try 9.04 soon)

What's wrong with just opening your home folder?
All the places are on the left and can be added to.
